Sri Lanka Squash Federation Championship was successfully concluded at Tamil Union squash complex last Saturday.
Congratulations to Ravindu Laksiri and Mihiliya Methsarani for winning Men’s open and Women’s open championships respectively.
Men’s final was the match between Top seed Ravindu Laksiri and Gihan Suwaris which Ravindu captured the title in 3 straight games.
Gihan Suwaris controlled the match in the first game with a lead of 5 points until Ravindu Laksiri gave all his best and favourite skillful shots. Second and Third games were also in control of Ravindu without leaving any space for Gihan to take advantage of his experience.
Women’s top seed Mihiliya Methsarani beat Fathoum Issadeen in the women’s finals. Fathoum Issadeen at her first ever women’s open final in her career showed extreme performance by taking on national champion Mihiliya Methsarani into close games. However, Mihiliya’s experience played a vital role to defeat Fathoum Issadeen by controlling the match.
