Six matches of the Sri Lanka Cricket Premier League ended today(9). 

Chilaw Marians vs Ragama CC 

Ragama CC’s Amila Aponso captured 8 second innings wickets to end with 13 in the match as their match against Chilaw Marians headed towards a tame draw with Chilaw securing first innings points.

Thikshila de Silva, Nimesh Vimukthi and Raiphi Gomes starred with half centuries in the second innings for Chilaw Marians who racked up 377 to push their lead pass 400.

Ragama CC ended the day on 172/4 with Sanjaya Chathuranga unfortunately being dismissed one run short of a well deserved century.

Colts vs CCC 

CCC thrashed a hapless Colts Cricket Club outfit by an innings and 29 runs with Ashan Priyanjan and Malinda Pushpakumara leading the way.

While Priyanjan hit an unbeaten 161* and captured 5 wickets in the match, the ever reliable Malinda Pushpakumara ended with a match bag of 11 wickets.

Gunathilaka and the bowlers find form on day 2

None of the Colts batsmen bar Sangeeth Cooray(37) put up any sort of resistance in their second innings as they crashed to 123 all-out.

BRC vs Negombo CC

The newly promoted Negombo CC walked away with first innings points in their encounter against a much fancied BRC unit.

Deshan Dias hit a superb century as BRC declared their second innings on 276/4, but Lasith Croospulle’s second half century in the match ensured Negombo made 142/2 in their second innings.

NCC vs Tamil Union 

Tamil Union put up an improved second innings performance reaching 219/4 at stumps, but they had already conceded a first innings win to NCC.

Upul Tharanga hit an unbeaten 59* as NCC declared their 2nd innings on 221/3 to make sure Tamil Union were batted out of the match.

Sithara Gimhan also hit a half century in Tamil Union’s second innings effort.

Saracens vs SSC 

Ashen Bandara made a useful 48 in the second innings for Saracens SC to ensure SSC got away only with a first innings victory.

Chamara Kapugedara’s 81 was the highlight on day three for SSC as they declared their innings on 419/8, 126 runs ahead of Saracens.

Axed Kaushal Silva puts SSC in control

Spin twins Akash Senaratne and Tharindu Ratnayake shares four wickets among them for SSC but it wasn’t enough as Saracens held on to a draw.

Army vs Ports Authority

A stubborn effort in the second innings by Ports Authority made sure Army had to be satisfied with a first innings win in Panagoda.

Primosh Perera’s superb 93 guided them towards safety while Ramesh Nimantha and Adeesha Nanayakkara also made half centuries.

Dushan Vimukthi ended with 7 wickets in the match to go along with his magnificent 178.
