Sri Lanka team’s Manager Asantha De Mel confirmed to ThePapare.com that since Pradeep is suffering from Chickenpox, another exciting young seamer Kasun Rajitha who is already in England as a stand-by option, will replace Pradeep for the remainder of the tournament.

De Mel also mentioned that the replacement has already been informed to the ICC Technical Committee and they are still awaiting their approval for this change.

Pradeep has been unlucky in this tour so far as he dislocated his finger while training but didn’t miss any games since his recovery period coincided with Sri Lanka’s back to back washout matches. He displayed his career best performance against Afghanistan in this tournament with figures of 4/31, securing a victory for Sri Lanka when they were defending a slim 187 target.

Meanwhile, the new inclusion to the squad, Kasun Rajitha who was a crucial contributor in the Test series triumph in South Africa, has only played 6 ODIs so far picking up 5 wickets. According to the reports from Durham, Rajitha will be added straight into the playing XI in the fixture against West Indies at Durham on 1st July.
