St. Peters juniors come out on top in both U-14 & U-16 against the Dharmaraja youngsters at Police Park Grounds, Colombo.

Both the St. Joseph’s U16 and U14 teams managed to win two tight games…

 The Under-14 match was clearly very one sided from kick-off as the  junior Peterites got the first try of the match within the first minute showing good strength and ball handling, however failed to convert the try.

The Peterites went onto get four more tries, successfully converting all four of them, making the score at half-time 33-0.

Peterite juniors got the second half to an equally dominant start as they were far too easily able to run past the Dharmaraja defence, with a majority of their tries coming centre field.

The Peterite U-14’s continued to run riot as they went onto get three more tries early in the second half, successfully converting all three as well before finally the Dharmaraja youngsters were able to save some grace registering their first and only try in the game but were unsuccessful in converting.

The Peterite scored one more goal before the referee finally blew for full-time, ending Dharmaraja juniors’ misery.

The U-16 game unlike the Under 14 match started off very evenly with both teams showing signs of dominance, yet it was the Peterite Juniors once again who got the first try of the game. But they failed to convert it.

The Dharmaraja youngsters came back strong however, registering a try of their own and successfully converting it as well ending the first half in their favour 7-5.

Peters’ started the second half very strong seemingly determined to overturn the deficit and they did so getting three back to back tries but failing to convert all of them.

Dharmaraja did not lie low and got another try of their own, successfully converting it, giving them a chance of a comeback.  However the Peterite juniors ruined any comeback their opposition could have mounted, going into the final try of the game before the referee blew for full time.
