St. Peter’s College Colombo outclassed and ran riot in their Under-16 encounter against Kingswood College Kandy as they dominated and won 43-00 at the Nittawela Grounds Kandy.

The young Peterites were coming off a big win against S. Thomas’ College in their first week and they carried that momentum into Kandy.

The Peterites dominated from kick off, scoring two early goals as they easily broke through the Kingswood Juniors’ defence. The Peterites continued to attack and dominate comfortably, with majority of play taking place inside the Kandy boys’ half.

The Peterite Juniors broke through the opposition defence yet again in the closing minutes of the first half, but failed to convert, ending the half with a 19-00 lead.

The boys from Kandy fought valiantly in the second half to mount a comeback, but to no avail. The Peterites continued to reign supreme as they broke through for 3 quick goals to reassert their dominance.

The skies opened up as the game progressed causing the ground to get muddy. This caused a few slips and spills but did little to hinder the Peterites’ flame.

Poor defensive work by the boys from Kandy saw the junior Peterites break through and dive over the line for a final try, before the referee blew for full time.
