Taking down BRC by 3 goals Old Wesleyities won the CHA men’s championship title.

The finalists for the men’s A category were BRC and Old Wesley. As the last match of the day they did not fail to entertain spectators the best. Opening with a struggle between the leading no. 09 player of Wesleyites and G. Peiris of BRC the match signaled heat early on. BRC won the struggle; pushed the puck in their favor but a swift chase from Wesleyites changed the phase of the game, resulting first goal. Imadh took off the puck from Azmi at the half court line, kept at it for almost 30 yards and with a pass back A.Azmi was on a clean strike to the goal. That brought in the first goal of the game. (Old Wesleyites 1: BRC 0)

Second and the third goals of the game were scored within short breaks. This time M. Imadh was able to gain the goal for the Old Wesleyties himself. It was a steady strike. Imadh and number 12 of Weslehities were having an exchange of the puck closer to the striking circle. As the BRC goal keeper closed in on number 12 Imadh was able to push through the covers. (Old Wesleyites 2: BRC 0) BRC made a quick comeback at this point. Knowing they have to make a recovery before the half time. T. H. Ganegoda for BRC made the break through goal for the team. It was soon after the second goal by Wesleyites. Using the half time as a distraction in the last minute, Ganegoda came forward with the goal. (Old Weslehities 2: BRC 1)

Soon after the half time, Imadh got another opportunity to score his second goal of the game. He wasn’t opting for a goal as much as a steal. But being surrounded by Peiris and number 11 of BRC he had no choice but to aim for a long strike. The unexpected fast shot took the goal keeper by surprise. This was the third goal for Wesleyites (Old Wesley 3: BRC 1) Falling behind BRC was trying to push the game in their favor but M. Irshad scored another goal for the Old Wesleyites. This gained  them clear dominance in the game. (Old Wesley 4: BRC 1)

BRC in need for 4 goals to turn around was at intense pace. The long passes from the players were risky but allowed them to score one goal. G. Peiris came in forward to save a throw from the goal keeper of BRC. This was a narrow save given the position of the save was a few yard from the sideline. But this gave BRC the advantage to score before the Old Wesleyites could position themselves. G. Peiris scored the second goal for BRC. (Old Wesley 4: BRC 2)

The BRC’s response was only limited to one goal. In  the meantime Wesley scored one final goal proving they were undoubtedly the champions of the game. M. Imadh scored his third goal of the game. (Old Wesley 5: BRC 2) With 5 minutes left to the game BRC had no luck in recovering the tournament.
