Sri Lanka Cricket announced the newly appointed panel of Selectors as ratified by the Minister of Sport, Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekera on Tuesday.

As reported earlier, former Sri Lanka fast bowler Graeme Labrooy will be the chief selector and his panel will include Gamini Wickramasinghe, Jeryl Woutersz, Asanka Gurusinha and Sajith Fernando.

Gurusinha is the only selector to remain from the previous committee headed by Sanath Jayasuriya. He will continue to function in his dual role as Cricket Manager cum Selector.

Former Maris Stella College fast-bowler, Labrooy represented Sri Lanka in 9 Tests and 44 ODIs from 1986 to 1992. Woutersz previously functioned as the national team manager while 44-year old Fernando, a former first-class batsman has been working as a reputed cricket coach. Wickremasinghe, a former Sri Lankan cricketer, played three Tests and four ODIs between 1989 and 1993.

The new Selectors will begin their term with the selection of the Test Squad to take on Pakistan in their tour of UAE commencing early next week. The Test squad is due to depart Colombo on Sunday to play 2 Tests, 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is against Pakistan to be played across the UAE, with the final T20I slated to be played in Lahore.
