Nalanda College Colombo clinched the Singer U15 Division 1 Cricket title when they defeated St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa quite convincingly in the final played today at Thurstan College grounds.

Nalanda College resumed day 2 at 4/0 needing 169 more to take the first innings lead. Lakshan Kashyapa played a match-winning knock of 72 and Raveen De Silva supported him well with a vital 27. Jayod Kaldera contributed with the bat too, scoring 21 not out.

Nalanda College got past the Sebastianites’ 172 with ease and were 179 for the loss of 6 wickets when the match was mutually called off since an outright result seemed improbable. Dunith Wellage was the only bowler to taste some success picking up 2 wickets for 45 runs.
