The Under 20 Inter -School Scrabble (Team) Tournament was held on the 24th September 2016 at Lyceum International School -Nugegoda.
Lyceum Wattala team comprising of Thavalakshman Yoganathan (Captain), Migara Jayasinghe, Janidu Karunaratne, Nusrath Sariffo’deen and Akshai Yogalingam emerged Champions in the ‘A’ Division. The Chief Guest for both the above tournaments was Mr. Khandan Mahendran President of the Sri Lanka Scrabble League.
In the Under 20 Inter-School Scrabble Tournament (Individual) School Scrabbler of the Year 2016 Thavalakshman Yoganathan came in at 4th place. Migara Jayasinghe and Janidu Karunaratne was placed 10th and 11th respectively. This was held on 01st October 2016 at HSBC-Town Hall. The tournament was organized by the Sri Lanka Scrabble League(SLSL).
Migara Jayasinghe and Janidu Karunaratne of Lyceum International School Wattala, ended as Champion and Runner up respectively in the Sri Lanka Masters Scrabble Championship 2016 “Plate Division”. This is an open age group tournament where the top 16 players of Sri Lanka participate.
