Lyceum International School Nugegoda and Lyceum International School Panadura played their annual cricket encounter for the Nikitha Grero Challenge Trophy on 17th February at P. Saravanamuththu Stadium, Colombo.
Captain of the Lyceum International School Panadura won the toss and decided to bat first on a pitch which offered some assistance to the bowlers in the morning session. However, they were all bundled out for 196 runs in just 42.3 overs. Sheron Liyanage top scored with 65 runs for Lyceum Panadura and Vihanga Ambeypitiya of Lyceum Nugegoda took 4 wickets for 22 runs in 7.3 overs.
In reply, Lyceum International School Nugegoda chased down their target 197 runs in just 24.1 overs. Vihanga Abeypitiya stroked his way to an excellent century with a score of 117 runs. This was also the first ever century in the history of Lyceum Annual Cricket Encounter.
