Lyceum International Wattala and Nugegoda were crowned champions in the recently concluded Inter International Under 17 Basketball Tournament, which was organised by Colombo International School at the British School of Colombo Court.
The finals which was originally set to be played at the MCA court was moved to the British School of Colombo court due to the adverse weather conditions. The girl’s final which was played first was between Lyceum International Nugegoda and Gateway College Colombo. Going into the game Gateway College Colombo was expecting sweet revenge after the nail biting loss to the girls from Wattala in the under 19 tournament earlier this year, however LIS Wattala drawing inspiration from that victory continued the momentum with the likes of Hazeena Abdul leading the charge.

In the Boy’s final Gateway College Colombo faced off against Lyceum International School Nugegoda with the latter getting the upper hand to win the game. LIS Nugegoda drawing inspiration from their sister school winning the Girl’s title went on the charge to take the game and seal their place as a consistent dominant force in the International Schools circuit.
