Sri Lanka Amateur Champion M U Chanaka Perera’s 1 under par gave him a total of 139 (5 under Par) after 2 Rounds to be tied for 2nd place with overnight joint leader B A Sanjeewa, who returned an even par second round. Sisira Kumara the other joint leader overnight, slipped to joint 4th place with N. Amarapadma on 1 under par 141 the 2 round aggregate.
Day 2 appeared to be difficult to score in hot and windy conditions at the Catalina Golf Club, Koggala, with only 3 players breaking the Par of the course 72. The Cut-off of the top 20 was made at 160 (+16) and the competition is intense with the leading five players separated by just three strokes, with 2 more rounds to be played.
