Kusal Janith Perera ruled out of Tri-Nation ODI series

Opening batsman Kusal Janith Perera has been ruled out of the remainder of the Bangladesh Tri-Nation ODI series due to a side strain which he sustained while batting during Sri Lanka’s five-wicket win over Zimbabwe on Sunday in Mirpur.

“Kusal Perera has been asked to rest by the doctors and will miss the remainder of the ongoing ODI series.” SLC stated in a press release.

Top order batsman Dhananjaya De Silva has been added to the Sri Lanka squad as a replacement.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s limited-overs Captain Angelo Mathews who suffered a right hamstring tightness has returned to Sri Lanka and will not take part in the remainder of the ongoing ODI tri-series.

His participation in the rest of the Bangladesh tour will depend on medical advice.

Sri Lanka will take on Bangladesh in their final group stage match on Thursday.
