St. Joseph’s College recorded a 1st innings win against Maliyadeva College in the group ‘D’ encounter which concluded today at St. Joseph’s College grounds in Maradana. The visitors resumed day two on 46/1 and were bowled out for 181 runs. Muditha Premadasa stroked a half century for the visiting team but it was not enough to go past home team’s score. Dunith Wellalage was the pick of the bowlers for St. Joseph’s College as he took 5 wickets for 58 runs.

Lumbini College recorded an outright win against St. Sylvester’s College in the group ‘D’ encounter which concluded today at BRC grounds. The visitors resumed day two on 63/7 and managed to add another 68 runs for the remaining three wickets as they were bowled out for 131 runs. Nimsara Aththaragalla stroked a fighting knock of 37 runs but it was not enough to save them as the off spinner Kavin Peiris ran through the Sylvester’s batting line up with 6 wickets. Lumbini College was set a target of 121 runs and they achieved it with 3 wickets to spare. Kaveen Peiris starred with the bat (38) as well to give Lumbini College an outright win.
