With a proud history of over 100 years, St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, continue to be at the forefront in both education and sports, nurturing thousands of young minds to become great leaders and role models in Sri Lanka and all over the world.

The annual Joe-Pete one day encounter is one of the most sought-after events in the Josephian event calendar that will be played this year for the 45th time at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) on the 23rd of March 2019.

The history of the fierce rivalry between two of the top Catholic schools in the country itself creates major excitement, and the Josephian Vehicle Parade that takes place to escort the Josephian cricket team, brings the right tempo for all the diehard Josephian fans to enjoy and embrace this event.

The vehicle parade with 7 years of history, is organized with lots of enthusiasm and pride. In the beginning only around 150 vehicles partook in the event but during the last few years however, it has become a statuesque event with over 750 vehicles and more than 2500 participants.

This year, the parade will start at 7am, from the College premises in Colombo-10 and proceed to the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) in Maitland Cresent.

Lahiru Munasinghe, President of the Batch of 2006 and the head of the organizing committee of the Parade 2019, shared his thoughts on the event, “The vehicle parade has become one of the most significant events in the college calendar and organized every year by the batch of 2006. As the president of the founding batch of the vehicle parade event, I’m excited to organize this year’s event with a new outlook. I remember our first vehicle parade which was done on a small scale. However, since 2011, the past presidents have gradually added more glamour to this extravagant event. Now it’s one of the most thrilling, exciting and disciplined parades in Colombo. The organizing committee wishes to extend a warm invitation to all Josephians to join the vehicle parade and to keep this well-established tradition going strong, cheering our team to  victory.”
