Jasprit Bumrah and Washington Sundar to miss upcoming series against England due to injury

Bumrah ruled out of England T20Is

Jasprit Bumrah, India pacer, has been ruled out of the three-match T20I series against England…

Uncapped duo Deepak Chahar and Krunal Pandya have been added to India’s T20 squad for their upcoming series against England.

Right-arm quick Chahar comes into the squad in place of star quick Jasprit Bumrah, who fractured the thumb on his non-bowling hand against Ireland last week.

The 24-year-old will miss the three T20s against England, starting on Tuesday, but is expected to be fit for the three-match ODI series that follows.

Allrounder Washington Sundar, meanwhile, will miss both the T20 and ODI matches after injuring his right ankle playing football during a practice session last week.

He’s been replaced by Krunal Pandya, brother of star allrounder Hardik Pandya, for the T20s while left-armer Axar Patel takes Sundar’s spot in the ODI squad.

All three replacement players are already in the UK playing for India A in a tri-series against England Lions and West Indies A

The first of three T20s begins on Tuesday at Old Trafford before the series shifts to Cardiff and Bristol.

That series will be followed by ODIs on July 12, 14 and 17 at Trent Bridge, Lord’s and Headingley respectively before a blockbuster five-Test series against England begins on August 1.
