Royalists and Bishopians dive towards glory!

Royal College and Bishop’s College Colombo emerged as Schools' Diving Champions at Schools Age Group Diving Championships 2011, which was conducted concurrently to the 38th Sri Lanka Age Group Aquatic Championships, this year.

The Royalists who managed to put up an aggregate of 235 points were portraying a loftier lead in the Boys category, while the Bishopians added 68 points, topping the Girls category.

St. Joseph’s College, who were the overall champions at the 38th schools swimming Championship, had planted themselves in the dejected Runner up position with 50 points, while De La Salle College of Mutwal secured the third place with 17 points. The lads from Darley Road had defeated the Royalists at the 38th schools swimming Championship events, with a 70 point lead.

The Girls category saw a close encounter between Bishop’s College and Visakha Vidyalaya where the latter, at the end of day’s proceedings, had to remain in the second place, with a tiny gap of three points! Good Shepherd Convent of Kotahena managed to secure the third place with 45 points.
