Thepapare met up with the Thomian coach Roshan Ranasinghe days before the all important Hayman encounter and asked about their preparation and the lead up to the 1st leg. When Thepapare asked him about his thoughts on the opposition, he stated the following,

“They are a strong team no doubt about it, they will be focused as much as we are”
