SPC fresh after a good performance against Thrustan College took on the mighty Thomians at mount Lavinia. STC have been the inform side this season as they have notched up 6 outright victories thus far.

The home team after winning the toss decided to bat first and the hosts looked comfortable at first as they accumulated runs at ease. However the Peterites dominated thereafter as they picked up wickets at regular intervals. SPC were able to dismiss the Thomians for a meek 188 runs in 42.2 over’s.  For the hosts Chamod Pathirana , Devin Jayasinghe and AM Sumanasiri scored 44, 31 and 45 runs respectively.  There were some good performances by the Peterite bowler’s wtih R. Liyanarachchi being the main destroyer picked up 4 wickets. He was provided good support by Julien De Silva and Dushan Hemantha who picked up 3 wickets each.

The visitors responded in grand style as they pounded the Thomian attack during their 1st innings while The two Fernando’s dominated for the visitors. Shehan Fernando the Peterite skipper once again coming amongst the runs as he scored 40 glorious runs. The other Fernando, Sasheen scored 71 runs. He showed good temperament and skill level needed in order to be a top player in the future. Besides from that a good knock by Janith Liyanage who scored 31 runs also added to the total of 241 for 6. For theTthomians Madushan Ravichandrakumar picked up 4 for 57.
