The inaugural Carlton super sevens tournament ended today with the Central Kings bagging the silverware in the finals beating the Western Warriors 38-5.

The Central Kings team which did not have the best of first days rallied round and came out with the killer blow to claim top spot in the dashing competition. The Western Warriors who were the surprise package in the tournament today could not pep down the Kings playmaker Ben Botica who ran in two tries in the finals and played a vital role in the other tries scored by them.

The first try came from the All Blacks sevens star Zar Lawrence who chased a long kick to score the opening points for the Kings. The next try came from the other foreign playmaker Benjamin Botica who ran the length of the field to score under the sticks to take his team 14 zip in front. The two local sevens specialist Mohomed Sheriff and Fazil Marija had a brilliant game and linked well with the rest of the team. Sheriff bought his ‘A’ game today as he scored 3 tries in succession to take the game away from the Warriors in the finals.  Sheriff showed some individual brilliance when he kicked ahead and collected to score a fine try to take away the game from the Warriors.

The North Western Blacks secured third spot beating a more fancied Uva Vipers while the North Central Typhoons ended their dismal run at the bottom of the points table.
