The interschool rugby tournament will kick off on the 25th of this month (February) with the annual under 20 Western Province 7’s tournament.

The Sri Lanka schools rugby football association will host the Western Province 7’s tournament on the 25th and 26th at the Royal College sports complex. Last year St. Peters College stamped their dominance early on beating Kingswood College in the finals to clinch the cup.

The all Island 7’s tournament will take place the following week on the 3rd and 4th of March. The ever popular Singer ‘Interschool League tournament’ will commence on the 17th of April. The two month long tournament will end on the 25th of June while the ‘Presidents Trophy Knock out tournament’ will start on the 25th of September.

Last year the interschool league was won by Royal College who were unbeaten throughout the tournament with Isipathana ending as the runner’s up. The knock out trophy was clinched by Trinity College beating Isipathana.

The rugby tournament calendar is as follows,

25th and 26th February - Western Province schools under 20 7 aside

3rd and 4th of March – Sri Lank schools All Island under 20 7 aside

17th April- 25th June – Singer League tournament

25th September – 13th October – Presidents trophy knockout tournament
