The Royal Thomian season has begun, with the Regatta last Saturday, the Hayman currently going on; along with these at the end of this month Royal College will take on S. Thomas College Mount Lavinia in their Annual Tennis Encounter.

This will be the 7th time both schools are set to clash for the E.F.C. Pereira Challenge Trophy. Last year unfortunately it was not held due to the bad weather; rescheduling was unsuccessful as the weather continued to be the same till the end of the year.

This year too Royal will be the favorites like they were in the past encounters. Royal will be captained by Shaakir Mohamed and S. Thomas will be captained by Jonathan Edward.

The encounter consists of 3 age groups Under 13, 15 and 19. Under 19 will be the age group that decides the winner of the encounter. The encounter will played at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association in Green Path on the 29th of October from 10 am onwards.

So make a note in your calendars to watch the schools with rich sporting histories clash at yet another Royal Thomian.
