In another interschool cricket fixture Ananda College took on St .Sylvesters College at the Ananda College grounds today.

The visitors winnings the toss elected to bat first and was able to put on just 151 runs all out in their first innings in 72.4 over’s. Faiz Ahamed was the main run scorer for the home team scoring 28 runs while Ruwantha Ekanayake and Sumedha Dissanayake scored 24 and 21 runs respectively.

Ananda College captain Pasindu Madushan was the main wicket taker for the home team taking claim for 5 important wickets for 37 runs. Venuka Ashan and Isuru Gunesekera managed to capture 5 wickets between them to take home the advantage.

The home team batting in their first innings were 70 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 18.2 over’s with Danuka Madushan unbeaten on 28* runs. Ananda have a tight grip over their opponents and will look to close in on a win on day two.
