Zahira College pressed on against Lumbini Vidyalaya today to record their 6th win for the season beating them by an innings and 45 runs.

Lumbini Vidyalaya batting from their overnight score of 45 for the loss of 6 wickets managed to add only another 37 runs. They were all out for 82 in 25.5 over’s with Rafan Manan top scoring with 22 runs. For the home team M. I. M Mohomed, Basith Marikkar and Pradeep Ananda captured 3 wickets apiece.

Lumbini then forced to follow-on could only manage to get 10 extra runs from their 1st innings total getting out for 92 runs in 32.3 over’s. This time the main wrecker for Zahira was in-form Pradeep Ananda.

Pradeep who has been having a scorcher of a season this year managed to capture a further 6 wickets to end with a match bag of 9 wickets. He now stands as the highest wicket taker in the side having captured 89 wickets in 14 matches. The left arm orthodox spinner has been a revelation for the Maradana team and will be a thorn for opponents in matches to come.

Ramith Priyadharshana the Lumbini captain was the only prominent run maker in the 2nd innings with 32 runs while Wasim Sinen captured 4 wickets for Zahira.

Zahira College won the game by an innings and 45 runs thus recording their 6th win for the season.
