Double Standards for Royal Skipper in his own den?

Following the incident regarding the Royal College 1st XI Cricket team and the controversial decision that followed, the Advisory Committee for Royal College Cricket has held a meeting with the Royal College principal in the hope that he would revise the decision made.

However ThePapare.com reliably learns that no change has been made with regard to the verdict given against the Royal skipper Imal Liyanage, while the rest of the six players have already been called back for practices. Owing to this stance of the school’s authorities, Liyanage will not be able to play this season or hold office as captain, going forward.

Several who witnessed the incident in question claims that the captain was not even involved in the wrongdoing directly. Even if that claim was a fraudulent one, one might have the question as to why the captain has not been given the same treatment as the other players.

We cannot provide a full and absolutely accurate answer for the above query since the authorities concerned are increasingly trying to avoid all the questions from the media. However, sources suggest that this may be due to a dispute between the coach and captain with regard to a certain player who was kept out of the team as it already accommodated one with similar bowling genre.

Interestingly enough, this player in concern also falls into the many who are categorised as “connected” these days, and thereby it justifies why there is so much ‘fuss’ just for one player!
