ICC chief Haroon Lorgat says, the world’s cricket governing body is looking forward to bring ‘disability cricket’ under the banner of the ICC.
Addressing the media following the conclusion of the first-ever ‘disabled cricket series’ which was worked off between the ‘differently-abled national teams’ of Pakistan and England, Lorgat highlighted that ‘disability cricket’ is already in their agenda.

The inauguration match of the ‘disabled cricket’ was held at the Dubai Sports City last Saturday (11), when the Pakistan team drew guns over their opposing England team, in the series of two T20s and 3 ODIs.
The Pakistanis stood ahead of the series as they grabbed the two T20s at the initial stages of the series and with a nine-wicket win for Pakistan in the third and final ODI held last Sunday (19) the Asians managed to seize the series (2-1 in the ODIs).
According to Lorgat, disability cricket has been a table topic at a number of ICC meetings. “We started to look at this (physical disability cricket) a little while back and it is a piece we have been looking at in recent (ICC) meetings. In the March agenda we’ll look again at it and the first thing we would like to do is put a framework together to bring it under the banner of the ICC”, Lorgat affirmed.
Lorgat further commended the two teams and their management bodies, who have impressed the sport fraternities around the world. “It has been indescribable. The management of the two teams and the players (Pakistan and England) deserve an enormous amount of credit.”
