Ports Authority clinches lucky ticket from Army to the Finals‏

The Ports Authority Cricket team beat Army SC by 1 run through the D/L method in the Premier Limited Over semi-final played at Panadura on Wednesday.

The game had a delayed start due to the wet outfield in the morning and the play time was brought down to 40 overs. However bad light stopped play after 35 overs in the afternoon.

S. Kalvitigoda and Dinusha Fernando managed to score half centuries each for the SLPA team and Fernando together with R. Perera remained at the center desperately trying to match the score of the Army SC when play was called off due to bad light. The Army SC team maybe slightly disappointed since the Ports Authority players would have needed to score 43 runs in 5 overs at a scoring rate of 8.4 rpo had play continued.

Port Authority will meet Navy SC (who beat the Saracens) in the 'B' division final, scheduled to be played at P. Sarawanamuttu stadium, on Friday.

Army 247 for 9 in 40 overs (M. Feshal 57, A. Gunaratne 47,  Prasad Chandima 34) (C. Komasaru 2/35, R. Eranga 2/37, D. Fernando 2/44)

Ports Authority 205 for 5 in 35 overs (S. Kalavitigoda 58, D. Fernando 57*, R. Perera 43*) (R. Palliyaguruge 3/49)
