The Under-19 Inter-International Schools Basketball Tournament quarter finals were held at the British School Basketball courts yesterday.
This tournament is being played for the 10th consecutive year and is organized by British School in Colombo.
The first quarter final match was played between Gateway College and Colombo International School. CIS managed to beat them by 48 points to 35. The second quarter final match was played between CIS Kandy and British School, Colombo. The visitors won the match in a close fight with the scores reading as 49-46 at full time.
The third quarter finals match was worked off between Lyceum International School Wattala and Lyceum International School, Nugegoda. At the end of the final quarter the Lyceum Nugegoda overcame the Wattala School by 58 points to 48. The last quarter final match was between Asian International School and Royal Institute. AIS won the game with a convincing margin at the end of four quarters. The final score read as 58 points to 48.
The semi final matches of the boys and girls categories will be worked off today at the British School courts. CIS, Colombo, CIS Kandy, Lyceum Nugegoda and Asian International School will compete in the boy’s category.
