HSC Blues community outreach program

HSC Blues Basketball club in association with the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation has initiated a community outreach program to build the required platform for the development of Basketball in Sri Lanka.

Accordingly the second ‘Blues care’ coaching camp was worked off at the Security Forces headquarters, Kilinochchi in last Saturday.

With the conclusion of bringing schools Basketball in to one arena, the necessary authorities have decided to develop Basketball at a district level and in view of this that the second ‘Blues care’ Basketball skill development coaching camp was held with experienced senior coaches of the country in attendance. Basketball equipment were also supplies at these camps

Nineteen schools from the Northern Province have gained the opportunity to develop their Basketball skills by participating for the ‘Blues care Basketball coaching camp. Also the schools were provided with the infrastructure facilities which will be required for the sport.

“I am really happy to be a participant of the event. We have received a valuable opportunity to develop our Basketball skills. Also we were provided with much valuable equipment. This opportunity will present many players from these areas to participate in the national basketball arena.” Speaking to ThePapare.com a participant of the mega event stated.

Member of the Parliament, Namal Rajapakse, Minister Thissa Karaliyedda, Governor G. A. Chandrasiri, Brigadier Galagamage, Major General Udaya Perera graced the occasion to distribute the valuable equipment for the 19 schools.

Sri Lanka Basketball Federation and HSC blues have decided to hold the next coaching camps in Kurunegala and Kandy.
