Heerthigan Memorial Basketball Tournament, which is organized in memory of the Kokuvil Hindu College Old boy Heerthigan was worked off for the third consecutive year.
For this year’s tournament 6 leading boys school`s and 6 leading girl`s school participated separately in two groups as A and B. In boys category Angel International School, St. Patrick`s and St. John’s College played under group A and Jaffna Hindu College, Jaffna Central College and Kokuvil Hindu College played under Group B.
All the teams in each group met each other once and the top two teams were qualified to the semifinals. As the final results in Group A, Angel International School and St Patrick’s qualified to semifinals and in Group B, Jaffna Hindu College and Jaffna Central College Qualified for the semi finals.
In the semi finals Jaffna Hindu College played against St. Patrick’s College. The second semi final was played between Angel International School Played vs Jaffna Central College.
In the Jaffna Hindu College vs St. Patricks College match; Jaffna Hindu College won the match at 69:52 and entered for the finals. In the other semi final Jaffna Central College vs Angel International School matche; Angel International School won the match by scoring 49:58 and qualified for finals.
