A first half goal from P.J.Kristion ensured that Singing Fish take home the 3rd place with a 1-0 win over Great Star SC in the Premier League Division II 3rd place play-off encounter at the City League Football Complex.

Both sides having lost their double legged semi-final ties were playing for pride. Great Star was beaten 2-1 on aggregate by Gelioya FC where they lost the 1st leg 1-0 at home and drew the away leg 1-1. Singing Fish lost 2-0 and 1-0 at home and away respectively to lose 3-0 on aggregate.

It was Great Star who had the first chance which was well saved by Singing Fish goalkeeper Pulendran Pradeepan but Singing Fish came back into the game creating a few chances of their own before scoring in the 30th minute. A wonderful one-two saw Kristion going one on one and slotting it past the Great Star goalkeeper Imran as it remained the till half time.

However in the 2nd half it was wave after wave of attacks from Great Star where either shots off target or saves denying the lads from Kalutara. They had no fewer than 11 chances.
