Erandi and Udaya crowned National Champions 2018

71st National Table Tennis

In the recently concluded 71st National Table Tennis Championship, Udaya Ranasinghe clocked victory for the 5th consecutive year.

Winning the women’s title alongside him was defending champion Erandi Warusawithana. The annual tournament kicked off the 2018 table tennis calendar and took place on the 27th and 28th of January at the S. Thomas’ College Indoor Stadium.

Table Tennis Junior Nationals conclude

The 71st Table Tennis Junior Nationals concluded this week..

Udaya Ranasinghe met schoolmate Krishan Wickramaratne in the final battle on Sunday evening and came through in a thrilling 5-setter. Reigning champion finished off the match with scores reading 11/4, 11/3, 4/11, 11/7, 11/8. Defending champion Erandi Warusawithana claimed victory in yet another 5-setter against Hansani Piumila. Scores read 11/4, 11/3, 4/11, 11/7, 11/8.
