Left handed Test opening batsman Dimuth Karunarathne has been appointed as the captain of the Sri Lanka `A` squad for the first two four-day matches against the touring West Indies A team.
The tour consists of three unofficial Test matches and three limited over matches in the month of October. Dashing left handed batsman Kusal Janith Perera has been included in the squad as the vice-captain.
Lahiru Thrimanne, who was dropped from the Sri Lankan Test squad against Australia last month has been included in the fifteen-man squad alongside Sri Lanka U19 players Charith Asalanka, Avishka Fernando, Asitha Fernando and Lahiru Kumara.
Chinaman Lakshan Sandaken who bamboozled the Australians recently and left arm orthodox spinner Prabath Jayasuriya have also been included.
Asela Gunaratne who was overlooked for the Sri Lanka A tour of England in the summer has been recalled while Ashan Priyanjan who led the Lankans in the United Kingdom has been dropped from the squad.
