Dharmashoka continues brilliant form with the ball

Dharmashoka College Ambalangoda took on Mahinda College Galle today in their inter school cricket match which was carried off at the Balapitiya grounds. 

Mahinda College won the toss and elected to field first and the host’s managed to accumulate only 157 runs in 57.1 over’s. For the home team Sudara Deshantha top scored with 30 runs while the other batsmen failed to make a telling contribution. 

Adesha Thilanchana, Pasan Thiyaranga and Ramesh Mendis all chipped in to the total with scores of 20, 21 and 26 respectively. Thilan Maduranga remained unbeaten on 17* as the host’s were dismissed for 157 with Dinuka Waduge claiming 3 wickets for 46 runs. Chalana De Silva and Indira Gallage also took two wickets each for 46 and 38 runs in that order.  

Shokians in their previous game beat Ananda College by 8 wickets and carried on their solid performance with the ball, spearheaded by their right arm off spinner Yohan de Silva. Mahinda at the end of days play were reeling on 86 runs for the loss of 6 wickets with De Silva claiming 5 of the 6 wickets. 

The Dharmashoka Skipper bowled 15 over’s out of which 6 were maidens. 

Indira Gallage was the highest scorer for the visitors on day one with a score of 21 runs while Nirwantha Theekshana and Dinuka Waduge contributed with 12 and 10 runs respectively.
