The Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) last Tuesday announced that they are to hold the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Asia Oceania Zone Group 2 tie in the first of its two Davis cup tiers.
This was revealed in a media briefing held in the Cinnamon Lakeside hotel Colombo last evening. Furthermore they announced that this will be worked off at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association clay courts Colombo on 1st, 2nd and, 3rd of February 2013.
The Sri Lankan team which consists of Rohan De Silva (Captain), Harshana Godamanna, Dineshkanthan Thangarajah, Amresh Jayawickrema, Rajeev Rajapakse, will face the Pakistan squad Aisam Qureshi, Aqeel Khan, Yasir Khan, Muhammad Abid under the captaincy of Muhammed Khalid. The tie will feature four singles matches and one doubles match while all the matches will be decided on the basis of best five of sets.
The media briefing was held with the presence of Iqbal Bin Issak, the president of Sri Lanka Tennis Association, Sujani Bogollagama, Treasure, Angelo Patrick, Vice Presidnet, Dinith Pathiraja, Tournament Director& Puneet Gupta Referee.
