Match Drawn:

The Thomians took on the highly reputed Nalandians in Mount Lavinia in their inter school cricket match

Batting 1st it was up to the Thomians to set the tone, and they did so scoring 271 for the loss of 9 wickets. All rounder Chamod Pathirana was instrumental with his stroke play as he scored a superb 82 runs. The youngster has improved in leaps and bounds and is a treat to watch when he is in full flow. Middle order batsman Lalindra Peiris also joined the party with a fabulous 82 middling the ball with utmost ease. Lalindra is not a regular member in the team but he surely has stamped his authority with this knock and a lot will be expected from the 18 year old right hand batsman.

Opening batsman Kavindu Perera was also amongst the runs as he compiled a valuable 31. Nalanda in their 1st innings were struggling at 36 for the loss of 4 wickets with Chamod Pathirana and Hemaka Ariyaratne ripping through the top order. The left arm swing bowling of Hemaka and the tight bowling of Chamod was keeping the Nalandians at sea. It was not easy for them as they were forced to work hard for their runs. Nalanda fought back with Dinuk Jayasinghe scoring a match saving 86. The Thomians could not tighten the screws enough as the Nalandians were able to sore 209 runs. Left arm spinner Chamal Fonseka was not up to his usual self but was able to capture 2 vital wickets for 51 runs. The match was headed for a tame draw.

The Thomians batting for the 2nd time struggle to make runs as they lost momentum of the innings slumped to 99 for the loss of 5 wickets. Skipper and top order batsman   Raveenthiraraja Nirushan top scored for the Thomians with a very impressive 39. Chamod Pathirana and Ashen Fernando got valuable time out in the middle as they scored 23* and 19* respectively.
