Colts dominate drawn game

Chamara Silva was dismissed for 98 on day three, as Moors SC folded up for 289 in the first innings of their drawn encounter against Colts. 

Rosh Samarasuriya and Pabasara Waduge also made half centuries for Moors, while left arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya’s five wicket haul made sure Colts secured first innings points.

Dilruwan Perera and Mohammed Shiraz also picked up two wickets apiece for Colts.

Batting a second time around with a deficit of 174 runs, Colts Cricket Club put up another dominant batting display as they ended the day on 269/3.

Double centurion from the first innings Sangeeth Cooray missed out on twin centuries by a whisker(98), while wicket keeper batsman Pasindu Lakshanka hit a brilliant unbeaten century as the match headed towards a draw. Pasindu’s knock included 9 fours and a six while Cooray hit three massive sixes and 9 fours during his quick fire knock.

Sandakan Pathirana was the chief destroyer once again picking up all three wickets to fall as he ended the day with a match bag of 11 wickets.

Colts are placed sixth after the completion of three matches while Moors are the bottom placed team at seventh after the completion of a similar number of games.
