After a gruelling week of basketball four teams earned their spots in both the boy’s and girl’s finals at the Inter-International Basketball Tournament hosted by Britsh School.

The semi finals which were scheduled to be played alternatively on both the outdoor and indoor courts were rescheduled to be played only indoors due to the rain.

Colombo International School girls team managed to step up by defeating hosts British Schools 29-24 in the first semi finals. At half time the eventual victors led 15-11 as Shanelle Perera and Tyra de Silva starred for CIS.

Lyceum Nugegoda managed to trump Lyceum Wattala in the other girls semi final to setup a mouth watering girls final which is scheduled to be played at 3.30 today at British School. The lasses from Nugegoda managed to defeat the Wattala girls 42-35 in their respective semi final.

In the boys segment it was Asian International School who once again proved to be tough competitors  as they managed to defeat CIS 53-44 as the game turned out to be a comfortable one towards the end.

However, CIS Kandy helped themselves to a final spot after their comprehensive 50-42 victory over Gateway International School as the stage was set for a AIS v CIS finals.

Both girls and boys finals will be worked off today at British School along with a consolation final for the losers of the four semi finals which would determine third place. Matches will commence from 3.30pm onwards at both the indoor and outdoor courts.
