Chloe Tryon, the South Africa Women vice-captain, has been ruled out of the Twenty20 International series against Sri Lanka with a recurrence of a groin injury.

The big-hitting all-rounder will miss the three T20Is on 1, 3 and 6 February, but is expected to return in time for the ICC Women’s Championship one-day internationals starting 11 February in Potchefstroom.

Sune Luus, the all-rounder, will return to the side in Tyon’s absence. Luus had been left out of the initial squad after a poor run in recent times.

The teams will play the T20Is as double-headers with the men’s matches featuring the hosts and Pakistan.
