Ceylonians Mega Bash – Season 3, the Sri Lankan community cricket tournament which is organized by Being Kind Foundation (BKF) Qatar wing, is scheduled to be kicked off on 20th (Friday) April 2018 at Asian Town Cricket Stadium, Doha – Qatar.

The tournament will run for three consecutive Fridays and the final day is scheduled to be held on 04th May 2018.

In the State of Qatar, Fridays are the weekend holiday and it is not a surprise to see car parks and flat deserts across the country invaded by thousands of cricket enthusiastic expatriates from India, Pakistan, Bangaldesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Undoubtedly cricket is regarded as the most favourite sport amongst our Sri Lankan expatriates in Qatar, which evolved from car park cricket to international stadium cricket over the past three decades. Moreover, weekly friendly matches were turned to a mini tournament and then later it turned into a month long running tournaments.

Among those tournaments, Ceylonians Mega Bash, has a distinct regard as Season 1 in 2016 was the first ever Sri Lankan community grand cricket tournament held in the Asian Town International Cricket stadium, which paved the way for many of our Sri Lankan expatriates to play Day/Night games on an international standard surface.  This tournament is open for all Sri Lankans residing in Qatar and the main objective of this event is to set a stage to offer scholarships for underprivileged children  in Sri Lanka. There are 32 prominent Sri Lankan cricket teams taking part in this year’s tournament and is expected to be one of the most keenly contested cricket tournaments in 2018. The previous two seasons were highly successful and Lama Cricket Club and Riverside Cricket Club emerged as the champions in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

The main sponsor for Ceylonians Mega Bash Season 3 is Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co. W.L.L and Co-Sponsors are Forbs, Al Riya Water, Transco International Cargo Services, Virgin Mega Store,  Qat Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, White Rock International,  AL Bateel Securicor (Security Patron), Rehlaty Travels & Tours (Hospitality Partner) and www.ThePapare.Com (Online Media partner)
