C.C.C. School of Cricket takes flight to India

C.C.C School of Cricket will be flying to India for the 22nd occasion, as their Under 13 travels to Chennai on August 17 for a tour.

This will be on invitation from internationally acclaimed CSS Whatmore Centre for Cricket at Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute under world renowned coach, Dave Whatmore, who needs no introduction to Sri Lanka.

The boys will undergo fitness and skill development in India, and also training and lessons on sports psychology at the centre for one week.

CCC Juniors will be led by Linal Subasinghe, a talented batting allrounder while Uvin Perera, another up and coming all-rounder will be his deputy.

CCC School of Cricket’s Director of Coaching, veteran Coach – Nelson Mendis and Ravi Subasinghe, the Manager and Vice President of the Schools’ Executive Committee will be accompanying the team to India.

Prior to the tournament, the C.C.C school of Cricket played a friendly match against C.S.S school of Cricket winning the match by 64 runs. C.C.C having won the toss chose to bat first putting on a score of 235 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allocated 40 overs. Sharu Shanmuganathan scored a brilliant century being not out at the end of the innings. R.Mukesh was the pick of the bowlers picking up 4 wickets.

Chasing down the target the C.S.S batsman could only make 171 runs before being dismissed in 39.1 overs. S. Mohit managed to hold one end accumulating 81 runs on his own.
