Two women badminton players who participated at the Asian Badminton Championship held in Chinese Taipei from April 16 to 21 returned to the country early last morning but to the amazement of the duo and many others, the officials who accompanied them did not return.

Novice Badminton championships organized by the Mercantile Badminton Association will see the finals on the 7th of April at S. Thomas’ College premises. 

The 30th edition of the Novices Championship organized by the Mercantile Badminton Association (MBA) will be kicked off on April 4, 2013 at St. Thomas’ College Sports Complex, Mount Lavinia.

After many years of having a free hand at an organization that was embroiled in squabbling, back-stabbing, under-cutting and corruption, the Sri Lanka Badminton Federation yesterday met its waterloo at the hands of the Human Rights Commission who ordered that its disputed election of office-bearers be put on hold.

Sri Lanka’s young champion shuttler Niluka Karunaratne missed the opportunity of being crowned as the champion at the Korean Grand Prix, when Singapore’s Shi Liang Dereck Wong defeated him in straight two sets.

Celebrated young Sri Lankan shuttler, NilukaKarunaratne has yet again made his stance in the International ring as he clinched the Men’s Single title at the Uganda International Badminton Championship, which was concluded today (06).
