Celebrated young Sri Lankan shuttler, NilukaKarunaratne has yet again made his stance in the International ring as he clinched the Men’s Single title at the Uganda International Badminton Championship, which was concluded today (06).

Young Sri Lankan shuttler, NilukaKarunaratne managed to list himself in the Olympic Qualifiers’ list, which was developed and published by the Badminton World Federation (WBF), last Thursday (03).

Celebrated young Sri Lankan Shuttler, NilukaKarunarathnereturned to his motherland yesterday morning, with three gold medals he had grabbed from three international tournaments, within a time-span of two months!

Niluka Karunaratne and Dinuka Karunaratne, the celebrated badminton siblings, fondly known as the‘Karunaratne Brothers’ made  yet another breakthrough at the recently concluded Welsh International Badminton Championships. 

The first ever Inter-university International Shuttlers festival organized by the Moratuwa University commenced from the 4th of May starting with the schools tournament.

Sri Lanka’s young champion shuttler Niluka Karunaratne missed the opportunity of being crowned as the champion at the Korean Grand Prix, when Singapore’s Shi Liang Dereck Wong defeated him in straight two sets.

The Sports minister gives a stern warning to the Badminton administration to refrain from violating the rules in the sports enactment

The Sports Ministry in a media release tates that the Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage has informed the Sri Lanka Badminton Association that stern decisions would have to be made in future if the rules and regulations of the sports enactment are violated, giving rise to turmoil in the Badminton Sports Administration.
