The greatest football show on earth has been the stage for the most intense and nail-biting encounters ever to be witnessed by the passionate fans all around the world.
The World Cups in 1986, 1990 and 1994 were won by Argentina, West Germany and Brazil respectively. Mexico 86 became Maradona’s tournament as the Argentine genius netted five goals while creating another five for his team during the course to victory.
The previous article was a voyage through three World Cup tournaments, 1974, 1978 and 1982. A new trophy was designed for the 1974 tournament as Brazil earned the right to keep the Jules Rimet in perpetuity with their triumph in 1970.
During the late 1950’s and the early 1960’s, the World Cup was dominated by the Brazilians. Having won their debut title as world champions in 1958, they continued their form to the 1962 tournament held in Chile, winning consecutive titles.

The FIFA World Cup, the second biggest sporting event after Summer Olympics as 209 candidates battle it out for two years with the intention of being qualified as one of the 32 ‘chosen’ teams to represent their country at the final rounds.
