The Junior Tuskers will begin their hunt for sevens silverware when the Asia Under 20 Sevens series comes alive on the 10th of August 2018 in Hong Kong.

An annual fixture in the Asia Rugby calendar, the Under 20 series is the proving grounds for budding rugby players from the region in the shorter format. The Junior Tuskers have had the privilege of remaining on top of the table in the under 20 format with a title win 2016 and a runner-up finish last year.

In 2016, the two legged series saw Sri Lanka lifting the silverware under the captaincy of Kevin Dixon and later in 2017, they went down to Hong Kong in the final.

In 2016, the team emerged winners in the first leg in Malaysia and later runners up in Hong Kong to take home the title

The series that was a two-legged tournament later was trimmed to one leg and this year’s edition will take place on the 10th and 11th of August at the Kings Park Stadium in Hong Kong.

The juniors have 4 weeks to prepare for the tournament and is set to commence training this week as the newly appointed national selectors have shortlisted a 36-member squad with players who represented their schools last year also getting the opportunity to play.
