Having faced a torrid time in the longer format of the game, Army Sports Club will be licking their lips as they aim to light up the limited over (50 over) and the T20 tournaments in the coming months.

Having begun first class cricket as recent as 2006/07, Army Sports Club has gone on to produce the likes of Ajantha Mendis, Seekuge Prasanna and Asela Gunaratne for Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan leg spinner, Seekuge Prasanna is the man entrusted with the captain’s duties as he looks to put behind a horrible league season as they go head on to the limited over format.

Influential top order batsman, Leo Fransisco missed large parts of the league season due to injury, however, his return will be highly anticipated as he aims to have an impact in the limited over format for Army.

Mystery spinner, Ajantha Mendis, hard-hitting leg spinner, Seekuge Prasanna and all rounder Asela Gunaratne are the main men to watch out for in the Army outfit, with both bat and ball in hand.

Vice captain, Janith Chathuranga is a bowler to have a close eye on. Meanwhile highest wicket taker up to this point in the season with 43 scalps, Dushan Vimukthi has been in tremendous form and will seek to carry it through to the limited over tournaments.

Lakshitha Madushan has topped the Army batting sheets with 552 runs in 8 games with a top score of 151* and will surely aim to continue his good run.

Pasan Wanasinghe will continue at the helm for Army as they seek to put a torrid league season behind them and proceed to the limited over series.

Army has struggled in the Premier Tier A league, however, they will have all eyes set on the limited over (50 over) and T20 tournaments which are set to commence shortly.
