In three of the matches in week 2 of the Dialog Champions League Army SC, New Youngs SC and Solid SC recorded dominant wins sending a red light to all the other opponents.

Issadeen hammers four past Blue Star

Army SC’s star man Mohamed Issadeen scored four goals as they punished Blue Star 6-0 at the Kelaniya Football Complex.

The newly crowned FA Cup champs continued from where they left off and out classed and out played Blue Star, who were on a high after defeating the defending champions Colombo FC in the opening week.

Sajith Kumara opened the scoring in the 30th minute as it only stood 1-0 at half time.

Second half was carnage as Issadeen made it 2-0 in the 58th minute and went onto add another three in the 77th, 87th and 90th minutes while Sanka Danushka scored the 6th in 90+1st minute.

New Youngs continues dominance over Navy

New Youngs SC made it 2 wins in 2 as they defeated Navy SC 3-1 at the Albert F.Peiris Stadium in Wennapuwa.

The last two times these two sides met, in FA Cup last 32 round and Champions League 2015, New Youngs were winners on penalties and 5-0 respectively.

However it was the visitors who scored first with Nalaka Roshan in the 29th minute but before half time Ankama George equalized in the 41st minute.

The second half saw Hasitha Priyankara scoring his second goal of the season while S.H.Thisera added the third in the 88th minute.

Ranjan scores a hat-trick

The returning Solid SC player Anton Ranjan who won the title with them in 2014 scored a hat-trick as they stream-rolled past Civil Security Force in a 6-0 win at the Prison Grounds, Anuradhapura.

At half time Solid led 3-0 with J.A. Henry scoring in the 31st and 45th while O.I.Abumer adding the other in the 33rd.

Police upset Java Lane to snatch all three points

It was all Ranjan show in the 2nd half as he scored in the 53rd, 63rd and 91st minutes.
