Allan Donald as consultant to Sri Lanka fast bowlers

Former South African fast-bowler, Allan Donald has been appointed as a Consultant Fast Bowling Coach to mentor the Sri Lankan seamers for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Nicknamed as ‘White Lightning’, Donald’s current employer, Kent County has agreed to release him for a two month stint with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) in the lead up to the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in England and Wales.

50-year old Donald is a vastly experienced bowling coach as he has held various positions with South Africa, England and Australia national teams in the past.

The SLC fast bowling coaching team consists of Chaminda Vaas, Champaka Ramanayaka, Ravindra Pushpakumara, and Nuwan Zoysa amongst others and Donald will work closely with the coaching team and conduct train-the-trainer sessions as well as working with the National Teams.

Donald will join the national team in their residential training in Pallakelle where they will be undergoing a high intensity Training and Conditioning program from the 9th – 16th of May.
