After the 8th goal there was a quiet passage of play where Hillary packed their back line with five players which was little too late.

Hillary’s offensive play was also getting better in the second half but they just couldn’t find the finishing touches they needed in the second half.

Madushanka completed his hat-trick in the 71st minute thanks to a brilliant cross by Bodri Dimitri.

Dimitri went on to score his second hat-trick of the match in the second half. His speed, strength and skills was just too much to handle for the boys from Mannar and he was not done yet.

Colombo FC scored two more goals including a penalty by Mohamed Rizni and the other by Ahamed Shazny.

However Dimitri ended the match with another goal which took his tally up to 7 goals and not to forget the 3 assists in the match.

The only good thing Hillary could take back home was the sole goal they scored in the 86th minute. S Jesudasan finding the back of the net through a well taken corner by J Livinton.

Losing in this manner is not easy to fathom but they should take heart from what they achieved this season and come back stronger next year.

For the defending champions, they made their presence felt in the top 4 and all the other teams will be aware of what they are capable of.

ThePapare.com Man of the Match: Bodrie Dimitri (Colombo FC)

Bodrie Dimitri speaking to ThePapare.com;

We took this match very seriously since this team beat Super Sun in pre-quarter. We knew we had to play well to win. The performance we put up was really good and I’m happy with it. I wouldn’t say this was my best performance in my career but I’m really happy with my contribution to the team.
