Here’s the roundup of matches which concluded in the 2nd Fair and Lovely MCA B Division Cricket Tournament 2019 on…

Singer Sri Lanka v Kanrich Finance ‘B’

Kanrich Finance ‘B’ won a cliffhanger against Singer Sri Lanka at Moratuwa Stadium. Singer won the toss and elected to bat first. Their innings didn’t flourish as they would have liked it as wickets tumbled in succession. Sachin Jacob played a lone hand in scoring 41 runs but the rest of the top order failed to contribute in a big way. However, they managed to bat out their 50 overs and posted 172 runs. Former Trinitian Skipper, Raveen Sayer was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 27.

In response, Kanrich Finance ‘B’ found it tough to chase down the below par score. Tharushan Iddamalgoda once again was amongst the runs with a valuable 34 but the match winning knock came form Sayer who remained unbeaten on 40 to take his team over the line. Singer took it right down to the wire but it was Kanrich ‘B’ who took the game with 2 wickets and 2 balls in hand.

HNB in their response lost few wickets early on but a sensible half century by Madhawa Warnapura took them over the line with five wickets in hand.
