23rd Inter-international Swimming this weekend

The 23rd Inter-International Schools Swimming Championship is all set to take place on the 4th and 5th of November at the Sugathadasa International Swimming Pool.

Over 850 Swimmers are set to take the Pool in this years event. The event which is the premier swimming event for the students of International schools will see the likes of Kyle Abeysinghe display his talents in the Pool.

The events is organized by Asian International School (AIS) and is sponsored by Milo. Students from 19 schools are set to participate over the two days.

The tournament was first held in 1996 in which 10 schools participated in the meet. AIS were eventual victors while Colombo International School (CIS) and Stafford came in second and third place respectively.

This tournament has always been a breeding ground for young swimmers and even went on to see the like of Mathew Abeysinghe and Kimiko Raheem who went on to represent Sri Lanka in the highest level. Both were students from Asian International School.
